About Rebecca

Born and raised in the sun-kissed archipelago of the Bahamas, my early years were infused with the tantalizing scents of spices and the rhythmic beats of Caribbean cuisine. Growing up in a family where food was the heart of every gathering, I learned the art of cooking from my Trini mother, whose hands seemed to possess an innate understanding of flavors and ingredients. The fusion of Bahamian and Trinidadian flavors became the cornerstone of my cooking style, a harmonious blend of spice, sweetness, and warmth.

It's not just about the food - it's about the stories behind each dish, the memories they evoke, and the connections they forge. I aim to bridge cultures, bring people together around a shared table, and celebrate the diversity of the culinary landscape.

One of the main reasons I travel is to explore food. No matter where you go in the world, food connects people.

I thoroughly enjoy seeing the lines that connect each cuisine and show how our ancestors shared dishes and spices that got tweaked along the way.

Think about it, most countries have their version of a noodle dish. In the Caribbean, most islands have their version of baked macaroni and cheese (even though I think The Bahamas has the best one), and versions of curry, a rice dish with peas, or a hearty soup with meats and root vegetables.
